this was my first blend to smoke. I had to learn to sip slowly, someone told me like a straw but i drink my drinks fast even with a straw, so i pretended it was a milk shake. Thats when it started tasting good instead of like crap. It was almost as if marshmellows were dancing on my tounge...very satisfying, good for after a meal
Edit: Corrected capitalization in title per Rule #9, L.

The pipe you smoke "that" tobacco in, how loose or tight you pack "that" pipe, the temperature of the tobacco burn (or smolder), that is how fast you smoke "that" pipe, what you just ate (spicy taco or peanut butter cup), the current weather and temperature, and your current mood, will all change the taste of "that" tobacco, to you, on that day.
Welcome to the pipe smoking hobby!

I gave Captain Black Dark a second try after an initial unimpressive one under rushed circumstances the first time. This second time, I dried the pipeful for 4 hours on a paper towel, even though it passed the "pinch test" right out of the pouch.
Still a tough campfire to get going, but eventually, it stayed lit for a fair amount of time. The first time, all I got was hints of a good room note, but no taste. This time, a slight hint of caramel, or maybe marshmallows, as youngpipesmoker describes.
Better, but still not on my favorites list.

I've been mixing my CB Dark with a pinch of Black House lately... makes for a kind of roasted marshmallows over the campfire sort of thing. Try it.
