Xicar Resource II Lighter

I picked up one of these and have been using it for a little while now and love it.

It has a piezo push button that is easy to use and a nice soft flame from the side.



It has built-in tools.



It fills easily and the flame adjustment is easy to catch with a fingernail, flip up, and adjust (no need for a small screwdriver, or knife blade, or etc).



So far it's survived a dunk in the hottub without issue. This is now my go to lighter.

I had one. Good lighter until it started to fall apart on me. If you like pipe o style lighters, I've got 2 IM Corona Pipe Masters that are each over 5 years old and still going strong.

It's my lighter of choice; reliable, fits the hand nicely. I've had mine for more than 10 trouble-free years.

I've had one for a couple of years. I like the easy adjustment and the window to see the fuel. The black finish has some flakes though, from dropping it on the patio pavers most likely.

Loved, loved Xikar until they sold to Quality Importers. Hopefully you get many good years out of that beauty, the warranty process isn’t worth the time imho.

I thought the Xikar warranty replacement was pretty easy. Last year my 4 year old HP4 Quad Flame torch stopped holding fuel so I filled out a form online, took a couple pics and shipped it back for $11. I had a brand new $120 lighter in about 30 days.

In my experience any lighter that has an electronic ignition and/or uses butane will eventually fail. That's why I only buy Xikar. If you want to avoid all that, Zippo is the only answer.

The Resource II is on my radar because I don't have enough pipe lighters.

I’m glad the warranty process was easy for ya, I hope it’s that way from now on. Bummed we have to warranty so much. Miss being able to call and talk to folks like Ken in their CS department. It was a gem of a company a decade and a half ago.

Thanks for the reminder! I dropped my Resource in the mail for warranty replacement yesterday. This will probably be fifth replacement since my kids bought it for me long ago.
I thought the warranty process was a bit confusing but I got through it in a few minutes.

Well that sucks, sorry to hear.

Because of the delicate nature of these things, all made with cheap labor overseas, I often wonder when these companies will just stop with the Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Sometimes the warranty doesn't even make sense. I had a Vector Thunderbird insert fail after the FIRST fill up. They asked me to ship it back on my own dime and include a $5 check for return shipping. All for a $14 insert. I opted to spend my money somewhere else.

This new white Allume double has a retail of $70-90 somewheres and is such a cheap plastic rattle can of quality. I do still own one other X cigar torch that seems excellent and great to use. Likely my last lighter purchase from them……until that next big sale lol. They do make lighters that are attractive when on the screen. I hope I’m the outlier here but suspect not.
