So I would never have expected this, but I just smoked about a third of a bowl of presbyterian in my new savinelli 622, and enjoyed a nice pliny the elder, and wow. When I drink, I rarely get a buzz, which is surprising for a 23 year old, but I like nicer beers, and 1, I'm not really into drinking to get drunk, and 2, I'm simply too poor to have enough nice beers to get to drink where I get a buzz. But I have one now.
Probably won't be repeating this too often, seeing as the 500ml bottle of pliny the elder was $7ish, but I will definitely remember this is case I have one of those really long days where I just need to unwind.
I know baron has recommended trying absinthe with H&H Black house which I plan on doing soon since my TAD prescription just came in the mail today with that, but does any one else recommend any other combinations that just gave you a nice surprise?

I find that any booze + a pipe gets me feeling drunk a lot faster than normal. I don't know why. But, when your alcohol tolerance is naturally high (and being 6'2 and 240 lbs, it takes a lot anyway) - I welcome it.
In fact, I don't have to be anywhere important in the morning. Thanks for the idea.

im 6'5 and 220 its very hard for me to get drunk but i strong pipe toby will put me down in a hurry.

My roommate also had a bottle of pliny, and he's filling it as well, so I'm thinking it lies more with the beer, especially since I normal have a beer or two during smoking.
and I feel ya guys, I also am a sizely person, and it always take more than I'd like to get me feeling it when that is my goal. unfortunately, that wasn't my goal tonight, I have work in an hour...

Its the nicotine. The same thing happens when you smoke a cigar or cigarette and drink. I am also a big man, 6'3 260. I like to drink port and by it self it takes awhile for me to feel it, but with a pipe it takes about 2 glasses.

A good craft beer and a pipe is my favorite way to unwind. I am quite fond of Brasserie du Roc Grand Cru, when I can find it, and it's around 5 bucks a bottle. Goes very well with Penzance.

I'm the opposite...When I drink a couple, can't piss hardly at all for a good couple of hours.
I'm like others here where it takes a good while to get me drunk, let alone buzzed. I'll make myself two rum and cokes before I feel anything (and for most of you, that's actually 4 rum and cokes by normal standards.)
Normally, I'll drink a nice stout or lager with my pipes. Other than that, I'll make one of these rum and cokes, or sip on some scotch.

Don't drink and smoke any longer but I never noticed nicotine affecting my feel of booze when I did. It's a totally interesting idea.Then again if you drink a 12 pack you can hardly feel ones taste buds.

My go to beer is Shiner Bock while smoking.... It goes great with Latakia!
