The Matrix
I just found one in my area, all a growing pipe-maker boy needs to bang out some

serious pipes....now to get enough together to rent time/$95 for 5hrs of shop time...
Does your area have them and do you use them?
I figure with the four or five pipe orders I have on hold due to equip limits,,

the coin from them will allow me to purchase some equip to work

Day/Night on the carves :)

Nothing like that around here. There are a lot of tools in a wood shop, especially someone elses, that isn't condusive to pipe making. $95 would go a long way toward making a purchase of your own equipment.
Getting some time in someone elses shop may help you get some ideas of what equipment will work and what won't for your style of pipe making.
One thing you can most likely expect to not find, is the drill bits needed for drilling your own blocks.
My suggestion, if you don't have them, is go to a harbor freight store and get yourself a 1" belt sander and a dremel type tool.
There are many other tools that make the jobs involved in making a pipe much easier but those two will get you started.
I'd then start with pre-drilled blocks so that you wouldn't have to drill your own. This also would make it so that you would already have the stem fitted to the pipe.
