Wine with a smoke?

Does anyone driink wine with any frequency while enjoying a smoke? I myself enjoy a beer or of course a good bourbon but does any one recommend a sip of the vine.?

I sometimes enjoy sipping port when I smoke. It used to be part of my evening ritual - A pipeful or cigar, some good port, and a good book.

I'll occasionally have a port, old vine zin, or a not too dry cab.

I believe that pipes go with any beverage. A good VaPer with a robust red brings out the tanins nicely.

When it comes to pairing a beverage with a pipe I'd have to say a nice bold red wine comes in tied for second with scotch as my beverage of choice behind coffee.

I do. I particularly enjoy a postprandial Cabernet Sauvignon on occasion.

I almost always have a beverage on hand when smoking a pipe, though. Sometimes just a cold glass of water, but black coffee or an Irish whiskey is often to be found.
(Jameson 1780 if at all possible.)

I prefer ale with a smoke a particular ale called newcastle brown ale it comes in 1ltr bottles and is best served chilled or realy cold. I have drank wine but don't like it as to me it tastes like vinegar no matter what style or brand.

I find that Red Wine compliments Penzance and English blends very well. :worship:

I've found that English blends pair well with Gewurtztraminer or Riesling and Virginas with most Reds. I'm sure they work the other way around too. In reality I've found that I like to drink stuff and smoke... in whatever combination I happen to hold in my fists at that time.

I second that motion...although a good ale (pale ale) goes great with a VaPer too.

Home brewed mead goes great with the pipe! Also +1 on the Port. Sandeman Founders Reserve goes great with either a pipe or a cigar!

I bet mead would be good, I haven't managed to get my hands on any of that yet. I'll have to track some down and try it.

The older, the better with mead! The Oldest I'v emanaged to keep around is from 2006. Just waiting for the right occasion...
