Wind capped pipes and silver capped

The Peterson thread on silver capped pipes had me smiling and I hope more become available under Smokingpipes.com’s tenure especially Rosalare grade and higher. I didn’t want to steer away from that thread but thought I’d open one to all ny makers pipe silver capped or with silver windcap. This is one you won’t see often unless I’m smoking it. Beautiful banjo! Are the caps decorative as well as for mitigating wind?

Both, it definitely helps with wind and it gives the pipe a certain amount of panache sitting in the rack.

Oh man. A pipe with built in wind cap would work so well for me. I do all my smoking outside. So far I make do with those cheap little squeeze spring wind cap jobs. Some day...
