I was watching this auction and thought I might give it a go if it was less than my max. I put in $226 with 10 seconds to go and looked like I might get it when BLAM it launched like a rocket in less than 5 seconds to what you see here. It was wild and heart pounding to be part of it. That happens all the time with Rob's auctions. He has so mmany people looking at his stuff, they always jump big time at the end.
I was looking at this one and

hoping to steal it for 400.00 or so and then the morons started hitting it 2 plus hours before it was ending driving it way up. People are so stupid for bidding early. I freaking love this pipe and who ever bought it got it for close to half price. Unfortunately even half price is way over my threshold so I ended up spending 450.00 on tobacco just now to make myself feel better. lol I really need to stop looking at ebay for pipes, I have to keep my focus on tobacco, but it is so hard not to look and them when I look, I always seem to fall in love with one pipe or another.

I'm with you Harris. I'm on the TAD train now too but damnit I can't stay away, hence the two Dunhills I just bought and the Castello made me drool too. So I went out after that auction and smoked my Willmer with some exhausted rooster to calm down from that frenzy.
