Why Is HU Directors Cut More Expensive Than Other HU Tobacco Blends?

Not sure how it is in the US market. But in Europe the Directors Cut blend costs around 35 Euro. Othere blends like Fayum around 22 Euro.
Why this price difference?
I think this wasnt the case in the past.

Is it because of the popularity of Directors Cut?

The U.S. market it’s about 40$ while other HU are 22$ when it goes on sale you can grab it around 32$.

Perhaps the “coin cut” makes you feel like it’s special. Perhaps it even costs more $ for production of the coin cut.

I do give it a top notch review above most other VaPers out there. That is my personal thoughts, YMMV.

If it were a 50g tin it would be in the around price point as many of the other high end vapers/va blends. That's where they believe it belongs, I guess it's up to you if you agree.

Peterson Delux Navy Rolls are more than their other blends. $20 for a 50g tin. Same for Escudo. Davidoff Flake Medallions are coins and are $16/50gm

The roll or spin cut seems to draw a higher premium. It's Directors coins and flake/ready rub combo?

People are suggesting it's demand but I think it's just a more labor intensive form factor. If you go look at bulk blends, shags/ribbon cuts are usually the cheapest with flakes and coins being at a premium.

agreed. Spun cut blends are expensive, especially those manufactured by Kopp.

Most recent tin I opened is coin cut/flake/Ribon.

More ribbon than flake or coin. So a little bit of everything.

I'm sure that accounts for some and demand for some. It's really amazing to me how C&D has kept their prices all the same. Even their small batches are only a little more. Good on them for it. I hope for a pease or CD coin cut to hit the market. Carolina red flake with perique coin cut.... that would sell out at 20 per tin I'm sure.

SG's most expensive blend is Cabbie's Roll Cut, fits the pattern. Labour intensive, maybe.

I put PH special curly about on the same level as directors cut. It’s little cheaper and pretty much just as good. It has a slightly $ tag than other Peter Heinrich blends.

I don’t care for the paint can tins….. but buy enough of them and put 5 tins into Mylar and it is easy to store. Or if you can find them the 7 ounce tins store nicely and are more cost efficient.

When Mac Baren shut down, there went a lot of the coin cut blends. All of Mac Baren coin cut tobacco were priced higher than their ready rub.

If they get real Perique from the US, it's probably quite costly.

I would assume borh HU and PH are Koop products. IMHO There aren't that many manufacturers in Germany anymore.
