Sorry for being so quiet lately. I sliced my right forearm(dominant hand)open pretty good at work severing a couple branches of my radial nerve and a couple tendons. This pic is 2 days after surgery. everything is reconnected and hopefully healing well. Typing with one hand sucks as does smoking with one hand. Funny how you take things for granted till they are taken away from you. All those little things like smoking, signing your name, cooking, hell, even wiping me arse is a friggin' chore now. Anyways, I'm here and following the forums, but responding is a bit of a chore for now. Happy puffing to you all.
Cheers.

Hey Phil,
I had a feeling something had happened. I know that injury could have been no fun at all.

We're glad you are back, and hope that the surgery is successful.

Take the rehab seriously, it may be a pain (in both senses) but down the road you'll be glad you did.
Get well quickly my friend.

I'm having sympathy pains, Phil! I know how an injury to a dominant hand can really set you back in more ways than one. Get better soon!

Thanks for the get well soon vibes. And yeah...it hurts like hell, but i'm no fan of the opioid pain pills that were prescribed so I'm toughing it out with tylenol, ibuprophen, single malt whisky and "herbal" remedies.

All of you may not know that Phil is the North American Thumb Wrestling Champion and rules state that he has to take on any challengers at any time. I'm just sayin'
All kidding aside Phil, I hope you have a quick and full recovery.

Hey Phil,
Hope you're not in as much pain as I'm imagining right now. Get better, bud.

I went through the exact same ordeal about fifteen years ago. You'll probably go through a phase of temporary depression because of you're daily activities being altered, which others around you will or should understand. It's a long time healing unfortunately, but with time it will just be an experience to talk about.Like pstlpkr said "take rehab seriously" because I didn't and doubled my length in time of recovery.Keep well!

Glad to hear you're on the road to recovery. We were getting worried there for awhile. So now your girlfriend will definitely need to give you a "hand" with some things...LOL

Phil I am sorry to hear about the injury, I hope your recovery is going well! Hey at least now you might have an excuse for a little bit more "help" from the girlfriend ;-)

A "helping hand" from the girlfriend needs no coaxing fellas, but the sympathy meals and house cleaning are certainly nice ha ha ha.

I do wish you well and that you recover full use of the hand/arm. The PT is gonna be the killer for you, but if you keep it up it'll pay off in the end.

Horrified and saddened. Sorry you had to go through the awful experience.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery. What did the Dr.'s say, 6 weeks?

Ouch! I hope that recovery goes well and you are pretty hardcore for still smoking with one arm lol. Hats off to you good sir. Take it easy and we will try not to ask too many questions needing a response from you haha >:D.
