I been thinking this as well. ie stop buying a bunch of mid range and just wait for that REALLY special Radice or Castello to grab me or even place a custom order. I will say I mostly have Savs and a couple Petes. The latter I am not that impressed with thus far but I am no expert.I found later on that once I realized what I liked in pipes (after buying countless savs and petes) I would rather spend more money less often on higher quality pipes.
That's been my path. However, PAD never really goes away. I still spend more than I should on acquiring at least one pipe a month or so and I have pipes that are years old and barely broken in.I been thinking this as well. ie stop buying a bunch of mid range and just wait for that REALLY special Radice or Castello to grab me or even place a custom order. Yeah. I spend way too much time on this site (according to my wifeJust 6 months... funny, I recognize your name when I see it on here now.

Seriously? Sorry to hear that brother.2023 will be a disastrous year for online tobacco buying (shipping will be banned) in the EU,
Yeah, thanks to our wonderfull people in Brussels or Strasbourg. I should nuance my statement: countries are allowed to ban it according to EU regulations, which normally means they will. But I'll be fine stocking up this year and maybe drive twice a year to my then favorite places. I average about 2 pounds a month now. I ain't no hoarder for the hoarding, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to stock up as ordering online is convenient.Seriously? Sorry to hear that brother.
I hate to think of Savs as a gateway—I've got one or two that were almost as much as my lower end Todd Johnson. If you think it's bad now, wait until you realize Savs are a gateway pipe. Then the real fun begins.
This. This is fairly normal. My anecdotal advice would be to try to tamp it down as much as you can or you will end up like me. I'm 3 years in and have already sold off probably 70 pipes from my collection, most of which I bought in haste in the first 6 months.
