I understand that there are factors influencing the sale and availability of some tobaccos from country to country; Europe have their blends, the Americans have their’s which, sometimes, become available when blends change ownership etc.
Can anyone enlighten me about why, say, Condor Plug is available, in Ireland only? I appreciate that Gallaher’s was an Irish manufacturer (Northern Irish, I believe?) so is that the reason it is only available there?
Surely, Condor, still being a popular tobacco in the UK - albeit with pipe smoking being at a low ebb of popularity right now - would be able to sell the plug variety and sell quite a lot of it as well; and when you take into account that they produce a flake version, so there must be a plug variety available, that would need less processing and therefore be cheaper to produce - why don’t they sell it in Ireland alone?
Why are there three types of 3 Nuns available in the States but only one in Europe? Two types (yellow and blue) of Capstan available in the States but only one (blue rr) available in England?
Why does Germaines sell there tobacco as Esoterica in the States but not sell it in the country of origin at all?
Back to the Condor plug which, I believe, is now made in Poland, like all the other JTI blends are; how much more effort would it be to sell it in any other country in Europe and why don’t they sell it in other countries?
