Out of the major manufacturers, or bang for your buck artisan guys, whose got the best sandblast technique/finish?
If I could I would buy a JT Cooke, but you know there's the problem of money and all... :puffy: Thanks!

I was going to suggest Larry Roush but he is pretty close in price to Cooke. Rad Davis, Brian Ruthenerg and Michael Parks are also fantastic. There are others that I am sure will pop into mind soon as well.

Ok, I realize all those guys have great blasts, I was thinking more like "Radice vs. Peterson vs. Savinelli" or something from a carver for under 250...or maybe I should've titled it "budget blasts"...lol

Hey Roth that is sweet. Not sure why it says Randy Wiley! Clearly a computer glitch. Love those early year Taylor Ashton's.

American Smoking Pipe Company (Tinsky) has some blasts that I sort of like for under $200. Like this one for $170.

I really don't like sandblast so I may not be the one to recommend one but I'll try.

Mario Grandi I makes some nice looking pipes for pretty cheap. I've got a couple really nice ones for less than 100$. Check him out on eBay.

Regarding the Mark Tinskys, I think "Coral" is one of his rusticated finishes, not a blast.

Mark's sandblast are some on the best I've seen. They are under the sandblast tab on his site.

That Coral looks blased to me.
My buddy is selling a JT Cooke with an AMAZING blast. It's a cutty, probably in the $300 range.
My Taylor Ashtons are probably my best blasted pipes but my lone Tinsk isn't bad either.

Jimmy Craig Ashtons are bad either, this one a $125 estate.

Al, I just checked Mark's web site and he has one page for "Coral Carves" and another page for "Sandblasts".

All these sandblasts are making me very jealous. I have several rusticated ones, but only have one real sandblast, my Dunhill. I really want more - no, I need more, I must have more! ;)

@bigvan The pic would only copy as one big picture. If I had been less lazy, I would have cropped it first to get rid of the coral section, re-uploaded it and then posted it. I just figured everybody would look where it said "blast".
