This stacked Billiard with ironwood accent comes from the bench of Pipemaker Kirk Bosi, keeping it smokey with Dunhill Dark Flake.

banjo - first let me say how much I enjoy the photos of your stunning collection.
I was thinking about this, especially as your last few posts have majored on the carvers. It struck me that it is people like you who make it possible for people like them to practice their craft. Rather like royalty of old who would financially support the composers and artists of their day, you support the artists of pipe making. Due to people like your good self, we continue to have imaginative and talented people who push the boundaries of pipe making. That means something, I think, when our noble art is so severely in decline.
Best wishes

Mike

Very well expressed, Mike! These photos had been evoking the same feeling in me at the subconscious level. I really appreciate the effort that banjo puts into posting these pix, as well as his engagement with the artistry of the pipe.

Well thanks guys, my secret is out. Just like bamboo fly rods I had to own one or more to see how the action fit my style of casting since I felt I could not realistically have an intelligent conversation about the fit, finish and characteristics of a certain maker without owning one to give me some credibility, it's the same way with pipes you can't be informative if you don't have experience smoking them and visualizing the craftsmanship, warmest regards.
