Hello everyone I hope all's well. I'm currently in the midst of a wind storm in a house built 1939 in a very wet location! haha good old cracky foundation!! Anyways sorry to add that. Not yalls problem lol

Whole leaf tobacco is new to me. this is my very first time handling leaves! These little white dots.... Are they to be of concern? My understanding is there is a certain thing that is acceptable (something called frog eye??) is this what that is referring too?2232.jpg

If you have a magnifying glass handy take a closer look at those spots. If the spots are crystalline in structure or powdery it may just be pluming which happens when oils in the leaf rise to the surface and crystalize which is fine and can be brushed off. If it seems to be something else such as the frogeye or a spot of mold, I think it would be ok to cut the white spots out and use the leaf. Are other leaves you have spotted like this? I'm interested to see how everything turns out and wish you the best of luck on your venture. How are you processing the leaf and what kind of blends to you plan on batching up?
