I find it ironic that the WHO is complaining of "harassment" by tobacco companies. Any chimp with two brain cells can see that all these laws they keep pulling out their asses are nothing more than a form of harassment against tobacco companies.
They know for a fact that these laws will do nothing to curb smoking. No logos, huge warning labels, drab packaging and the banning of so called "candy flavored" cigarettes are just ways in which these groups and the government give tobacco companies the finger. Nothing more.
Btw, as a former cigarette smoker of 18 years, I have never seen nor heard of anything that would even come close to a "candy flavored" cigarette. Yet, according to groups like the WHO and truth.com, tobacco companies have made cigarettes in over 42 different "candy flavors."

The gist of the post was to say how ironic it is that the antis, on the one hand want to eliminate tobacco, but on the other hand want ever increasing tax revenue from it. It doesn't make sense.

The gist of this one was to say that there should be less taxes and government and that individuals should be responsible for their well-being rather than the government.

Ok folks, let's not let this degenerate into a my countries' health care is way better than yours type of affair. We're just discussing the general stupidity of singling out tobacco as the big evil here, excluding all the other vices that are just as potentially bad. That is one thing I think we can all agree on, without anyone's patriotic feelings getting hurt.

WHO slams tobacco firms for 'harassment'
Let's keep it on topic and ditch the political discussions which are not allowed on this forum since day one. This is an old rule, not a new one.

On the way home from The Hard Rock Casino just now I sped. I followed too closely. I ran a stop sign. I almost hit a Chevy. I sped some more. I failed to yield at a crosswalk. I changed lanes at the intersection. I changed lanes without signaling while running a red light and sped some more ... but that's normal in Florida.
I smoked in the casino too, but you;re allowed to do that.
At several pipe shows, they run out of or don't have smoking rooms, and someone I know that shall remain nameless just smokes and invites tons of people in to smoke and then just pays the fine. Actually, it a company that has the budget to afford it.
