I just purchased a pipe with “SCHENLEY” stamped onto one side of the shank, “MADE IN ENGLAND” in a circle and “122” stamped onto the other side, and a tiny white “S” on the stem. My first thought was it could be a Stanwell unusually made in England instead of Denmark, since they had a “Henley” sub-brand. But the “Henley” photos I’ve come across online have the nomenclature in script. The only “Schenley” brand name I’ve come across is a spirits brand. It’s made very well. Has anyone heard of a Schenley?

A three second web search found an old liquor company by that name with a lot of ties to tobacco and things in their advertising including with Kaywoodie, could have been a special production for the liquor compsmy. I’d start there.

“1944 Esquire Original Ads WWII Era KAYWOODIE Briar PIPES SCHENLEY Whiskey.”
