We had an awesome family day and much to be thankful for! Even the beast enjoyed a lot of turkey and took a nap with me on the couch while the others played Wii. Now it movie time.

I had peanut butter and bread and that's no joke, but life is good it's more than I had in Nam. and I had it at home. Our troop's now don't have it that good no mater what is served. Think about it. Hope all is well with them. God Bless. :puffy:

Best part of my day? Going home from the turmoil of Thanksgiving every year. My father-in-law did not disappoint either. His annual progression into a world-class asshat came later in the day than normal. I became worried that I was going to lose the $5 bet with my brother-in-law, but I didn't, now I'm five dollar richer
Oh yeah, there was food too. IIRC, it was pretty good

I had and still have plenty to be thankful for but my time was not that enjoyable, we traveled and met with family, But we lost one of the members this august and I miss that person terrible, and I had a hard time with that issue.

All of the churches in our little town get togeather and have a community Thanksgiving dinner. Standard fare, most of it cooked at home and donated. (At least 20 kinds of pie.) It is free but donations are accepted. We went with a couple down the street that needed a ride and had a wonderful time.

After the hour drive that was an almost two hours because of traffic every thing turned out fine. Lots of food, rice instead of potato as usual. Sister in law goofed up her pies as usual and her husband kept his yap shut. That was not usual but appreciated by all. Kids had fun being little monkeys. My son stood by his grandfather while he carved the turkey so he would give him pieces of skin to eat saying, " More skin please" The old ladies gossiped and talked reality shows. The dudes watched the Niner's game and the kid was fast asleep before we hit the freeway on the drive home! :)

Made a honey ham in the Dutch oven. Power went out that morning so no conventional oven. Also did some caramelized sweet potatoes and drop biscuits in the smaller ovens. Turned out fantastic.
