White Knight is the closest thing to Balkan Sobranie White circa 1980. Very prominent oriental flavor.

It's not up on P&C yet, I don't think? I could not find it...
...did you try it in Chicago?

Thanks for the link.
Whiteknight is alloneword.
A search for White Knight will not find it.
The tin art could be better, looks like a D&D doodle from my 7th grade notebook!

^^^^I am only buying 1 tin to test it out not going wild on this one yet as there is no real reviews. I threw in a tin of Meat Pie to try also.

I just ordered two tins. If it is anything close to Sobranie White, I will be thrilled, as I preferred it to 759. The only blend I know of that comes close is Compton's Macedonian, but at $32 per 100gm, its a rare treat. Russ did well on Black House, I expect no less with this.

a bunch of us had the honor of trying WK at a pipe meeting before its release. as woodsroad said, "Buy it". it's an excellent blend and Russ' deft hand nailed it. In short, don't pine for the original, get White Knight.

Meat pie is pretty good. It has a full body to it and the smoke is thick and heavy in your mouth. Lots of flavor and a big smokey presence.
To those who have had this mystic WhiteKnight, how does it stack up with Black House? It's kind of funny how they both sound like two rival families/clans of 16th century England, lol.

To me White Knight is a lighter blend, I guess due to it being more of a Balkan based concoction. So they are very different. I smoked a lot of BS 759 in the day and WK is a real pleasure to smoke. I will say tha my favorite Russ blend is Magnum Opus.

Would love to try White Knight and Magnum Opus but, alas, they are only available at P&C and they do not ship to Canada. Smokingpipes carries some of the H&H blends, but not these two - perhaps because they are part of the Marquee line.

papipeguy, magnum opus is on my short list. i shall get to it very soon. You like that stuff better than black house? If so, what makes it better?

MO is meatier to me. A much fuller smoke and very rich. Russ blended MO his own preference, so that is good enough for me. I think you'll enjoy it. If not I'll but it from you, that's how sure I am.

Thanks papipeguy, It shall be bought very soon. From your description, it sounds right up my alley. I like black house, but the only thing missing for me is exactly what you said MO contains: the fullness of the smoke and full body of the blend. That is exactly what i was hoping to hear. Thanks for the info, brother!
