The Matrix
JimInks review of GLP's Triple Play Plug was spot on and thank you, thank you for that - I always review his stuff before trying new blends. Since I was really enjoying GLP's JackKnife Plug ( had a few pounds with 5 yrs of age on tit ) I have been wanting to try Triple Play and I'm sure glad I did. This stuff is outstanding.
My prep of the plug - placed the plug on a wood chopping block and used a KitchenAid Mezzaluna ( really good blade for cutting plug up without much effort and only $12.99 on Amazon ) sliced thin flakes off the plug and then rubbed out , after that I rock the Mezzaluna over the pile, catching any uneven cuts of tobacco to make sure everything is of consistent cut. After that process I give it some dry time ( I'm in the Northeast, so this time a year an hour or two does the trick ) as I can still feel some moisture. It is then ready for the smoke. I just gravity fill a bowl ( I find the 7/8" bowl chambers give this blend enough room to really shine but have smoked in 3/4" bowls and it also does fine ), give it a quick tamp and it is good to go.
Just had a wonderful AM smoke using an Ardor Rusticated Bent Apple ( My two sons gifted me for Father's Day a few years back ) w/side of Grady's Cold Brew Coffee

Mix it? Mix It? Oh Ok. Black Frigate is exquisite. So Embers mixture must be also.
