I've decided to try adding Perique Blending Tobacco to a few blends of other tobaccos that I enjoy to see if I can come up with something I will like. Any thoughts on what's available and what you have come up with will be appreciated! Which is your favorite?

Just about every major seller of tobacco has perique on hand. Several even sell the stuff. You'll have to decide whether or not you will try blend something other than St. James Perique.

It really is hard to know exactly what your getting when you get perique.

After reading what Mark Ryan says about it, it's clear as mud.

Seems like the stuff labled St. James is made from all locally grown tobacco which causes a lot of inconsistences. Mark says that's the "pure" preique. Then they make Acadian Perique and it's made with kentucky burley.. not fire cured just burley from Kentucky. Mark says that's makes up 90% of what they sell.

My bet is that you get the acadian if you buy blending perique.

It's good whichever it is.
