I'm wondering whether I should contact Tim West @ JH Lowe, or go with pipemakers.org
But I'd like to hear the consensus from you all, where would you get a pre-bore briar pipe kit if you were going to buy one?

In the past I tried a pre-drilled kit from Pimo. It was'nt bad but if you have the tools to drill it yourself I suggest you go that route.

I actually do have all the necessary drill bits and a vise.
My real concerns are getting the chamber hole to meet correctly at the shank hole, and properly fitting the stem.
I will do some reading.
Thanks for all the answers and advice. :puffy:

Most of the pipemakers use to drill the shank hole after have drilled the mortize.they make that with the unfinished pipe in a hand. That operation can easily watched on you tube videos. To my opinion isn't the correct operation, firstly because a perfect centered vertical and horizontal shanhk hole to meet correctley the chamber hole is very difficult to obtain, secondly because the shank hole rarely will be at the the exact center of the mortize and that influence the way of smoke.Much better to drill the shank hole immediately after to have drilled the mortize simply changing the drill bit ,so the perforation line will remains the same.I always do that
