I'd like to welcome Russ Ouellette back from his serious, but brief convalescence. He is back working at PipesAndCigars.com and writing for Pipes Magazine.
He asked me what I would like him to write about for June. I came up with this month's topic based on market research. One of the most popular questions typed into search engines related to pipe tobacco is -
"Where is Pipe Tobacco Grown?"
Here's a succinct expert answer to that question from Russ.
Where Your Tobacco Comes From

Great article Russ. Glad to hear you’re back on your feet.
When you talk about Perique you said that the leaf that it is made of is “…similar to Burley”, what does that mean? Do they use a hybrid leaf that doesn’t have a name? Is it Burley leaf in Perique or not? lol

@Spartan - Perique tobacco is in the Burley family, and Kentucky Green River is also blended in.
For A LOT more info, notice there is a subtle hyperlink on the 2nd instance of the word Perique to a full article on it.
