Doing well, old house is 4 ft off the ground, on a little hill. We are cut off though with main Hwys going to town. Got some pictures ruined with a little leak in closet. Neighbors not so lucky, one asked me if they could come and shower because they had been 2 days without . Before you know it I had my old porch full with people waiting to clean up, told em bring your own damn towel I"ll furnish the soap. To get to shower you have to pass thru my pipe room, I sat in my recliner and made sure none of my pipes went to a different home, because I didn't know some of the people. You gotta help in times like these. Had a hard scrabble young couple who flooded knocked on the door today and wanted to buy my old utility trailer I made from pipe and was in my pasture. He asked how much, no job, oil industry down, he's a welder, got 80$ out his pocket and said down payment but I can get more. I said its yours, put that money back in your pocket. I cranked up my big tractor, got it out the field, he loaded it up to his old Jeep his wife hugged me with tears , I said Damn you girl you gonna make me cry, hit the road.

You're a good man, Brad. More people with an attitude like yours could put Big Brother out of the charity business.

Old school Brad. Do what you can do for those that need a hand. Most times you can smell the users who want something for nothing...

I'm glad you're alright tbradsim1. The flooding looks really bad from what I've seen. It sounds like you've been a godsend to a lot of people. Keep one eye open and hang in there. I hope the water starts to recede soon.

Glad you stayed dried. Slidell didn't get any flooding but we are sendin help to the areas that need it. My son lives in Baton Rouge and his house stayed dried. He is an executive chef at LSU and has been working 18 hour days feeding stranded students and first responders.

Good one Brad, that's the Cajun spirit! I just sent my daughter home to Mandaville last night. Her place was OK, but her husbands sales route (bread) was shut down for two days because of road closures. 27" of rain in a day or so, unbelievable (we haven't had that much all summer). One of her friends places was flooded, girl is 8 months pregnant. Rough times.

Glad you're safe and dry, Brad. This post made me think of this photo of LSU's kicker from a few days ago (he's Cajun):

Saw this graphic by WAFB TV in Baton Rouge. Watson, La had 31.39 inches of rain from Aug. 10-15. Los Angeles has had 29.18 inches of rain from Jan. 2012 - Aug. 2016.
Brad, thanks for doing what any good Cajun would do. We're sending what we can from Slidell.
