What's with all the rudeness lately?

I've noticed a definite uptick in the amount of rudeness and attacks on other members' posts as of late. What's up with this?
Forum rules include directions on etiquette, rudeness and discouraging others from asking questions.
Why are some members permitted to treat others on the forum this way?
I cannot help but wonder if some with much tenure and more posts feel they have a greater right to voice opinions and 'school' the less informed.
Last I read, this forum is open to everyone and no member is special.

I’ve noticed a couple members seem to be acting a little to comfortable here. I have a feeling they’ve gone through something but who knows why. Some think a post count means something more than time on their hands.

End of winter tends to ramp up the snarkiness.
This is a good reminder to be kind to each other, we're like minded enthusiasts. The enemy is out there in many formats, but not here.
