What is the difference between these stout twists - Brown Bogie, Brown Irish X, Black Bogie, Black Irish XXX?
I'm a fan of Brown Bogie - very smooth smoke, very good taste and somewhat strong in both taste & strength. I find it is a very easy tobacco to deal with and requires not too many re-lights. A good one to add to other blends to give more body and strength without changing the profile too much. Personally, I do not find it as potent as it is made out to be. What are the others like in comparison?

You'll have to try the to really know. The brown ropes are similar, the black I believe are treated with olive oil and give that charred beef taste. If you like one, you'll probably like the others.

I can't tell much difference between brown bogie and brown irish x (other than ring guage). Both pretty lively and robust and with a decent but not overpowering nic kick.

The black tastes quite different. Same tobaccos, I believe, but stoved longer. Flavor is milder and more muted with (as noted by Briarcutter) a sort of "meaty" undercurrent and, to me, also a slightly burnt taste... though not exactly in a bad way. Less of a nic kick, but still pretty stout.

I prefer the brown, but the black is interesting sometimes.
