I fell in love with the picture of this pipe at Pipes&Cigars. I've been smoking it a few weeks and it performs like a dream. As a matter of fact, it may the best smoking briar pipe I own. It is an IDA Group II, which are hand cut from pre-cut shapes. So you get some of the economy of machine pipes but with the uniqueness of a hand made pipe. I was considering one of Todd Johnson's designs from briarworks but one of our industry leader said he thought the Neerups were made every bit as good.
I usually capture images of pipes from the seller's website and note the details in photobucket for my records. However, P&C removed the image and details as soon as I purchased it and I had to take my own picture.
So, what would you call this? An Apple? I might call it a lumberman due to the long shaft except that is has an apple-like bowl. Lumberman's seem to be a billiard with a long briar shank.
I don't think this will be my last Neerup. I really like Jeppe Pedersen's style.
