If money wasn't an issue what pipe would you purchase. Seen many post of desert island tobacco but never on pipes. So which one?

Something that catches my eye in the shop. Then it would have to meet my criteria. I wouldn't buy a pipe uninspected or unfondled. I won't purchase a pipe I haven't fondled, period. And, moneys are never an issue.

Serious question. I may have missed this, but why do you only smoke Peterson pipes?

Wow, touch choice, so many great carvers out there.

But, for now, I’d go with Poul Ilsted or Former.

When Former’s 60th Anniversary pipe came out, that is what I really wanted, still do.

My first pipe was a 1971 Donegal 338. It smokes and looks great still! It hangs nicely while I’m driving, reading, etc.

Dunhill Cumberland Churchwarden. I have been eyeing this pipe for awhile, but finally decided it is too expensive for me to ever purchase.

I'm done. But, I suppose I could be undone by one of a couple of things, a Sixten pipe in excellent condition and of a pleasing shape, or a cased 19th century Barling swans neck at about 7 1/2 to 8" length. Maybe an 1880's cased BBB magnum with Barling silver work.

Serious question. I may have missed this, but why do you only smoke Peterson pipes?

I just like the way they look, and the way they smoke. It's not too fancy, very traditional looking and it's an everyman's brand. How can you go wrong?

If you are going to pipes from the legends, I would get one of Bo Nordh, Sixten, Lars, and Nanna Iverson, Teddy Knudsen, one from Jess Chonowitz.

I don't miss anything that was available before I started collecting or more expensive than I could afford. But I do wish I snagged an unsmoked S. Bang billiard or pot.They were out there. Why didn't I get one? The shaping on S. Bang pipes, even "boring" classical shapes, is close to perfection. Note: I have been eyeballin' some S. Bang-like Surh pipes, but can't seem to find any billiards available to purchase at the moment.

It's the Burak, which supposedly inspired Eltang, that's eluding me.
