All right... i think many of the beginner Pipe smokers want to know (maybe not), not except me, how the ash must looks like after take down the boil. Here's myne. It's look like it's included three fraction ash (white one), charcoal (black one) and small amount of tobacco itself. Now a general question... is it fine, or shows some unusual processes?20211027_161501.jpg20211027_161453.jpg

I would say almost exactly the opposite.

I assume you were smoking something cube cut? I'm looking at mostly unsmoked tobacco here.

That's what I'm talking about. Is this black pieces?

Yeah, that's just charred tobacco. It looks like it was dumped out after the initial charring light, you should/can smoke it more before dumping it.

It means that you are leaving some tobacco in the heal after your done smoking. We call this "dottle," and it is very normal. It does bother some smokers to leave anything behind, but I see it as being better than charring the inside of the chamber. YMMV

But check out all those brown ribbons! Doesn't look like dottle, honestly just looks like a dumped bowl.

Looks fine to me. I have a round metal bowl with a lid that I dump my ashes in. My ashes look very much like yours. Here is a pic of several months of ashes. I throw everything in this bowl as you can see.

Here's the only question that matters.

Did you enjoy the smoke?

If so, it doesn't matter what the scraps look like.
Actually yes... but I want to know, maybe I'm doing something wrong... that's why this question was born. Sometimese, you know I filling that steam become... how i can say... caustic, and I'm don't understand why.

I always throw out a lil tobacco with each smoke... When I started I always tried to smoke all the way down because, after all, you have to get a cake in the heel of your pipe, at least that was the mantra I often read about on the forums. Are you enjoying your smoke? If so, than don't worry about tossing some dottle, It's better than sucking down hot embers into the back of your throat.

Sometimes you can smoke a bowl until it feels like "enough." Sometimes until you can taste the dottle. Either one is fine. If some tobacco is left over, no need to put in your slipper (like Sherlock Holmes).
