Because no one knew and didn't post fast enough? lol
Actually no, I’ve played in the internet since Al Gore invented it. “Lol” doesn’t remove the pedantic tone of your post.

The post you quoted was because I was working in a piss poor coverage area, and when I posted, it ended in the pipesmagazine radio show forum, so that was for the mods to move it or delete it…
If you have a line on info on House if Windsor 805, I’d love to see what the original was, well, originally.

Maybe the blender thought he was developing something original, not intending to match something?
Perhaps, most Sutliff “match” blends are something d/c’d or a bulk economy version of a hard to get, spendy blend.
I can’t find anything of what I’ve found from limited Windsor info that is a licorice cav…

It is a Match blend, an all Black Cavendish flavored with Licorice, Chocolate, and Walnut:

Let us summon @JimInks as it's probably a match of an old blend we've never heard of. Couldn't find much on my internet search and not listed at tobaccoreviews.com
I never even knew there was a House of Windsor version until I tried the Match, so there's nothing I can tell you about it, expect that HoW must had made it in the past or Sutliff wouldn't have made a match for it.

Thank for the input, @JimInks et al…

I use it as a mixing condiment to some blends, and had seen the review. Odd that it’s a match to some HOW little known archaic blend.
I find the licorice level in it to be just right to counter the “throat drying” aspect of some blends, especially while smoking in the field at work when a tasty beverage isn’t always at hand. The old codger blends may have hints of licorice for the same effect.

I thought someone at the House of Windsor had taken a particular liking to the blend called Bourbon Street, so it carried that reputation, but I may have it wrong. Also, I think the royal household may have conferred its blessing on two or three blends, so the House of Windsor gets mentioned more often than you'd think. I can't think which royal was a famous smoker, since King Edward with his cigars back in the early 20th Century, if I have the dates correct. It may have been a lesser royal, Lord Mountbatten or someone, who smoked a pipe. The later King Edward (?) who abdicated in the 1930's did smoke a pipe, or did so in photographs, from which the prince shape got its name (?). Maybe some of the English members can sort this out for me.
