What is it about Peterson's Early Morning Pipe and Nightcap that's similar in the Tin Note? As many know, they both smell fantastic in the tin (and are great smokes as well), but I don't think I quite have the experience yet to tell what it is in them that makes the Tin Note similar? I'm sure it's something simple, like the amount of Latakia.

Also, what are the best match blends available in bulk for both? I know there are some, but I haven't tried them yet.

Thanks!

I haven't tried Peterson Nightcap but Dunhill Nightcap was the blend that got me hooked on pipe smoking, and to this day is the only blend that I can get to stay lit and get taste from.

I'm not sure what it is, but it is a great blend for me.

What? After four years? Your patience exceeds mine, by an order of magnitude.

Retrohale, if you’re not already! And Godspeed, for I can’t imagine how many bowls have disappointed in the last four years.

Nightcap always stayed out for me, whereas other blends in constantly relighting. Not every time, but a lot of the time.

Nightcap also didn't need to be dried out extensively for me to enjoy, which was nice.

Maybe it is a stretch to say Nightcap is the 'only' blend that works for me, but it certainly is a lot more user friendly for me.

I had the same kind of experience, until I finally had some sort of breakthrough, being able to fold and stuff Mac Baren Navy Flake and have an enjoyable smoke. Wish I knew what changed, but I’m glad it did.
