I'm guessing many of you may not be fond of the change I made whereby the "Latest Discussions" section at the top of the forums have been eliminated.
It's natural to be resistant to change, especially when it's something you use often and got used to things being a certain way.
I think this will be an improvement, once we get used to it. The actual organization of the forums was too easily ignored.
This will help us have new posts go into the right forums, and it will help readers find the types of topics they are looking for, and to avoid what they don't want to talk about.
So let's try it.
Please don't send me PMs to complain. I don't have the time for that right now. No offense.

I can see the logic behind the change if posters are not going into the correct sub-forum before posting. The only thing I miss is the time since last post as this shows me what is new whilst I have been away from keyboard. Would it be possible to add that information to the current layout of the various forums?

YEAH for going back - I was trying ever so hard not to just complain about the change!! Placing it at the bottom may remind people to post in the right place :)

The joy of having the synopsis is, if you go for a smoke for an hour, it is easy to see what has been posted when you come back. Even with the most recent post appearing at the top of each sub-forum, that doesn't really help. For example - if I noted that "What are you smoking?" was at the top of the tobacco talk forum, then come back an hour later that same topic could still be at the top of the list if 1) no one had posted or 2) someone added a comment to that thread just before I came back and lots of other posts had also been made.
To avoid people posting in the wrong place, would it be possible to remove the option of posting unless you went into a sub-forum?
Hope my comments don't annoy, but I love the synopsis and it makes this forum SO much easier to use than others. They are meant in the spirit of trying to help rather than whine.
All the best - Withnail

 I logged on a while ago while it was only the subforums showing and was like: "Oh what the hell is wrong with my computer?" After refreshing several times, I gave up and had to unload some boxes/handle customers at work. Just came back and it's back to normal. I was seriously about to go full on chimp-mode on my computer lol. Then I saw this thread 8) whoops

I kinda like the sub-forum headers at the top. Reminds me I have to look in those other ones once in a while...

Yep, simply reversing the Forums list and Latest Discussions looks to be something to stay with for awhile.
Ooh-ooh!

While we have your attention Kevin, add an additional forum dedicated to Repair and Maintenance?

Perfect! Individual forums at the top to remind people to put their new posts in the right place, and Most Recent underneath to satisfy forum watchers like myself

I like it at the bottom. It's just going to take a couple of days to get used to scrolling down. I normally surf on my iPad so today was a little interesting. :D

It looks just like it does on my PC but smaller. :P
Everything works except the upload functions, but it's like that with every site I visit. iPads are good machines but they have quirks.

I personally kind of like the way the new forums look. Yea its just basically stuff scrambled around a bit, but somehow, I think it looks a little cleaner and easier on the eyes. Thanks Kevin!
