I woke up from under a rock to find out about the massive shut down. Amongst trying to scrape up what I can of what's out there, I'm trying to understand what's gone for good, what's at risk, what's TBD, and so on. From what I understand...

ALL Mac Baren Blends gone
ALL Sutliff Blends gone

Capstan SAFE
Three Nuns SAFE

ALL Hearth & Home Blends TBD (+ Bengal Slices)
ALL SPC Blends TBD

What I'm most curious about is the people who were supplied by Sutliff. From what I read LJP, Country Squire, & WCC could be at risk because of the shutdown.

Let me know if I'm missing anything, and if I should stock up on what's left or move on to brighter pastures.

From what I understand (relying partly on this thread for reference):

-Sutliff mostly gone, save for a token few inconsequential goopers.

-Mac Baren mostly gone, except for:
1) VA Flake
2) Navy Flake
3) Vanilla Cream Loose Cut
4) Virginia #1
5) Mixture Scottish Blend

-Capstan Gold gone, both flake and RR, Blue RR gone, Blue flake remaining.

-H&H completely gone, likewise Bengal Slices.

-Seattle Pipe Club completely gone.

Three Nuns appears to be in the clear.

-Newminster completely gone.

-Amphora probably gone.

-EGR gone.

...and even concerning the handful of Mac Baren blends STG is actually retaining, it is reasonable to expect that these will soon be tampered with and degraded. To what extent is anyone's guess.

If anyone has contrary information, please don't hesitate to correct me! In this instance, it'd be a joy to be proven wrong.

Regarding actionable steps...I'll absolutely second @VDL_Piper on this one. Unless your favorites are still in stock and your consumption rate is low enough to where a quick load-up would take care of business, best to just move on. There's still plenty of brilliant offerings by the likes of C&D and GLP. And of course others, like Stokkebye, if you don't mind feeding the STG borg cube.

Personally, I'm one of those low consumption rate kind of guys, and I stocked up amply this past quarter, so I'm all set. We all had to assess matters and take whatever action worked for each individual; certainly best for you to follow suit, but don't fret...it's not too late!

WCC and other blenders who used Sutliff blending stock bought significant amounts that will allow them to continue to make their blends, with the exception of flakes and cakes, for many months to come.
In the meantime they can look for substitutes.

I don’t know if WCC just had some Sutliff old stock, but they knocked it out of the park with their F Sequence!!!!

It seems like (while supplies last) Churchwarden is a good substitute for Plum Pudding based on my reading, and Nor'Eastern may fall somewhere in that chain too... Anyone have any experience that could say if that's true?

No but I can say, according to what Ernie told me on the phone, that all the WCC cakes, including Nor’Easter, as they currently exist, are done forever as is Simply Orange which is a major bummer, man.

I agree with VDL_Piper and Servent King, it's probably better to move on to other tobacco's unless some of your favorites are still in stock. Keeping in mind the price for said remaining tobacco's in stock have not been increased in price.

As someone that doesn't have a ton of money to stock up on a bunch of blends that were on the chopping block, I acquired a small amount of my absolute favorites, that would last me a while as like Servant King, I'm a low consumption rate smoker. What I acquired will last me a long time.
