At the risk of asking a dumb question: What do you actually get when purchasing a SG 250g box of tobacco? Is the tobacco inside bagged or sealed up in anything? Is it portioned in any way or more like one solid brick? I’m eager to buy it, but I’m wondering if it will have to be jarred up immediately…or what…

You get just over half a pound of proper tobacco. 😂

The general consensus appears to be to either jar the contents or Mylar the whole thing upon receipt, as the plastic bag inside isn’t graded for long term storage

The ones I have bought come in a sealed bag inside the box. They are probably fine to leave like that for a while, but as with all tobacco, it's probably best to jar it as soon as convenient.

It's usually long uniform slices (I've only ever ordered flakes this way).

You get the flakes laid out on top of each other in a thick sealed plastic bag. Forms a rectangle and are reasonably well organized. I always cut them in half before transferring. SG should take a lesson from Mac Baren for their boxes. Laid out near perfectly, it is a thing of beauty.

This was a question I wanted to ask as well. Thanks for broaching the topic, as I believe I’ll be rather tempted to bite the bullet on one of these boxes some day, and it helps to know what state it will arrive in.

Every one I've ordered has contained some of the best flakes I have smoked, and I'm pretty sure they were on the shelf in the shop for a while.

The Gawith tobaccos definitely seem pre-aged with the sauce to an extent. I get the same deep, strong flavors from their tobaccos that I get from Germain's.

Yep, nobody packages flakes like Macbaren.
