I was at Tobacco Grove in Maple Grove. No idea the price. I grabbed 6 cigars a tin of Haunted Bookshop and this La Gloria heading out of the humidor to settle in one of their recliners and light it up in their cigar lounge.
Won't help you much if you're in a cigar lounge that doesn't have any handy, but you can buy or make your own glue and repair those. Just take some pectin, add water until it's mixed into a glue consistency, you can use a little brush or even a toothpick to glue the wrapper back in place. Give it 24 hours to dry, and you're good to go. Get the smallest jar possible of pectin and it will still last you forever. I usually just make a small batch each time I need it, but you could probably make a little batch and keep it one of those coke vials with the little spoons for a portable version.

Cool, thanks for this tip!

The unravelling has mainly happened on ultra cheap cigars I try now and then. And when I accidentally allow one to dry out. It surprised me that a La Gloria right out if the walk in humidor would have this happen.

I've saved cigars during a smoke with a little pectin in some saliva mixed on a finger tip. I don't mind the sweetness if it saves a smoke and it will often dry if it's on the cut end due to the heat of the draw.

Xmas cigar time, Aladino classic robusto
View attachment 358255

2 months rest at 55%, smoking very well but a tad fast - unless that is common with Aladino cigars?

May bump up the humi RH to the low 60's again.
I can't really say- only Aladino experience I have is with the little Corojo Santis. Those smoke for an hour for me, stored @ 65RH and 68°F

Maybe that is fast- they are 5.5"after all... but real skinny @ 32...

About how long did your Robusto last?

Actually wasn't too bad in the end, maybe 45mins - felt about the usual robusto time.

What got me was when I was toasting it slowly (like that Davidoff video from @PipeIT ) it took the flame really well and burnt in a 1/4 inch in like 30 seconds.
That said, it had a nice open draw and it didn't need a proper light at all - toast, puff and go.

I've got a couple of santis the other day that I need to post in the cigar TAD thread when I get the chance 🙂

Huh, so I wonder then, what do you think- should I try another one soon or let 'em sleep??

Depends on what you think! At their size, the amount of ligero is minimal, if existent at all, for such a small vitola. I usually associate ligero leaf as needing longer aging time depending on how aged it was when used to craft the cigar and how long the cigar sat afterwards before finding its way to your hand. Generally, Opus are released quite young, which is why many folks elect to age them. The pussycat has been a 1-2 year cigar (enough to acclimate) for me, though I've not had well-aged examples or aged them extensively myself.

Try one and decide!
