What Are The Non Aesthetic Differences In The Brigham Line

Thinking of buying a new pipe as my main went missing, my other two most used ones are both Brighams and I really like them. One of them is a Algonquin 2 dot curved, its a model they still make, the other is one I bought used, its from when they were still made in Canada, its a one dot apple, little different than the models now. Incredible smoker, the best smoking pipe I have now.

I'm thinking a classic straight billiard and its between the two dot and the three dot. Price difference of around $20, im wondering where the price difference comes in. Is it higher grade briar or something? Will the bowl heat up less with a higher grade briar?
