'round about Christmas, my Bishop blessed me with a selection of his old pipes. In it was a beautiful Stanwell freehand, a Velani Chianti, and this pipe that is simply marked "Wellington". I've recently reamed it out and polished it up and am giving it my first smokes. So far, so good. But I'm having a terrible time finding out too much about this pipe. PipesandCigars.com calls it a "Peterson style without the p-lip. Pipedia tells me a little about the maker. Can anyone fill in the gaps?

Thanks, herbinedave. If this is indeed a Wellington (and I have no reason to doubt it), it obviously has some sort of replacement stem. There is no indication of a WDC Triangle on it at all. Not a big issue as the stem is completely kaput anyway (the tenon is broke off). I guess I'll have to search for some original pictures and see if I can have a replica stem made.

Wow! Thanks for the Walker Briar Works link. I'll definitely be looking into them. This is (to me) such a sweet looking pipe that I want to get it into top condition. My Bishop actually surprised me with this gift of pipes. I had no idea that he was sending them to me. I also love the Velani Chianti that he sent but there is something wrong with draw hole. It doesn't quite line up well so I end up fighting the pipe to get a good smoke. But it is beautiful. May have to have that one worked on as well.

Check out this link,it shows several WDC stampings including one that is on a wellington. I've never seen a WDC Wellington shaped like yours, but it could be a WDC.
