Well That Random Blend Turned Out Weird

When I have not quite enough to smoke of a Blend or three I dump them together. Well EGR Mixture 79 and Mountain Camp tastes of Chalk. It wasn't bad or good. Just chalk and wine flavor. Mostly mentioning this because, what the heck? Oh and at one moment it gave me the classic latakia tire fire burnt rubber taste I normally don't taste. Anyone else have home blends full on using whole leaf, already made blends, or a combo of the two that turned out weird and totally unexpected?

that's often the case. And sometimes it's just terrible, but this one was a first. Very neutral but weird as folk.

I generally do pretty well but occasionally I hit a weird one. Sometimes I smoke it, sometimes not.

Mixing heavily cased or topped blends is always a gamble, especially from different makers.

Never really worked well for me. Flavors tend to clash. But I'd take the stuff camping or something. Except I haven't camped since '67.

not heavily cased blends tend to be pretty a ok. Same blend gave me leather shoe today. I actually liked it alot. Made me realize I need a lot of Davidoff Flake Medallion.
