Good morning from Lakeland ?
The perfect way to start your new week. SG Bothy Flake and a macchiato in the bothy ?
Last shift tonight then three days off, the weather is looking fine and the mountains are calling!
Have a wonderful week you lot.

My all time favorite Lakeland is Brown Sugar Flake, but it's hard to get in the U.S., so I recently bought some G&H Scottish Mixture. My wife and I stayed at a resort in Windermere that we found preferred a more elaborate wardrobe than we were toting, but we stayed in Grasmere, the best, where some older folks complimented us behind their hands saying we sure didn't seem like Americans. We enjoyed an English music hall review and walking home in the 10 p.m. twilight, that far north. Old gents drifted past in the fog, puffing their pipes.

….music hall? Old gents drifting past in the fog? Was this during the war???
I’ll have to take your word for it, I’m Scottish so here in exile!
Grasmere/Windermere etc are places we avoid.

Frasermac, we were tourists so I guess we went touristy places, Dove Cottage and Wordsworth's grave, etc. It was the eighties, but yes, the old gents were out strolling in the fog, and there was an English music hall performance which was left over from WWII, and good. We didn't get to do a real hike, but walked enough to see a lot of wandering sheep and Wordsworth's aforementioned daffodils. We got up to Edinburgh too, loved it.

Enjoy. A doonhamer in the Lakes! I am in Peebles. Where in the Lakes are you? My inlaws have a static caravan for holidays just outside the Lakes in the Eden Valley.
On the coast, home looks straight up Wasdale.
