Question for you BBQ/grill enthusiasts. Any of you familiar with or have used the Weber Vortex before? I’ve used it a few times, and I love the crispy skin I get on chicken with it, especially wings! The damn thing gets SO stinking hot though. I know that’s what it’s suppose to do, but I’m afraid it’s going to eventually damage the lid of my kettle. Thoughts?

Maybe load less charcoal? They have number of different sizes also and which is the ideal size depends on the kettle diameter.

The high heat that it generates is awesome. I guess I was hoping someone here had some experience using them more than a few times. I love cooking with it, but am I gonna burn a hole in my grill lid? 😜
