Weaver Commission Progress

[Chasing Embers]

For the past couple of years, I have offered Bruce Weaver a sum of money to make me a pipe. Sometimes I will make particular requests like stem material, or something minor, but the overall design is up to him. Passed along my annual request to him last week, and he sent me this pic today. Very excited!

I really enjoy it when he sends me pics of the work in progress. I get to look at them when I get the finished pipe and see how it progressed from a briar block to a fine smoking instrument. This is my fourth commission from him, and am more impressed with each progressive pipe. Love his work!

Yeah that's going to be great ! I got the chance to hang out and work with Bruce in his shop for a few days last year. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. He made a pipe similar to what he's working on for you, and I also made a similar shape. It was great to watch him work, I learned a lot.

He invited me to come see him as well. Going to try to take some time off this summer, and make a vacation of it. Never met him in person, but have had many phone conversations with him and he seems like a really great guy. Should be a lot of fun!

Oh yeah, make that invitation happen. He's a great guy to hang out with, a gracious host, great cook and the guest bed is super comfy :D
