WDC Marked Pipe

I went to an estate sale yesterday and bought a 10 pipe round rack with tobacco jar, along with the rack came 3 pipes 2 no name junkers which I left. One of the pipes was marked with WDC in a triangle which is a Willam Demuth Company brand. The pipe is a Royal Demuth, imported briar root 30. On the bottom is marked filter pat'd 1934. Can any one tell me when these pipes were sold and by whom?

WDC Wellingtons are very nice pipes. I have 9 now of three sizes.

I have several WDC pipes including one big by huge Jumbo. All are excellent pipes.

My only WDC is my partially rusticated churchwarden. It has a kickstand and requires the smoker to hop on the kickstart to light it up. :lol:

Just getting back into pipes after being away for about 25 years. Found this Willam Demuth Company on eBay, did my research here, found this thread and made the purchase based on your recommendations.

Now I've got to figure out what type of tobacco to start with. I'm certain I do not want drugstore stuff (yet I have read good reviews of Capt Black). What would you suggest for someone just starting. I smoke a mild to mild/med cigar from time to time. Think I'd like to go with aromatic pipe tobacco.

I have one WDC. It cost me next to nothing. It has a unique taste to it, I think because the briar is so old. It smokes vapers extraordinarily well.
