And I very well might pick some up now with SP's 20% off all W.Ø. Larsen tins. I haven't been too willing to pay $25 for a full 100g tin of it until now, but I'm having trouble deciding which one I want to purchase. My tobacco budget is quite likely already over spent, and I'm reaching for this one just because of the sale and a feeling like the time is finally right to pick one up.
So, in my browse through all three that they have to offer, I can't fully decide which one to pick up for myself, so I'm putting it out there to all of you fine fellows that might have tried any of the following blends and can tell me what you thought about it. It just might help me make a decision. The reviews on SP's are mixed for a few of these. I'm at odds with a few of the well respected gents I know around here over a couple blends I find fantastic, but they find just meh, so I'm just curious what any others here might think of the blends.
The choices are:
1864 Perfect Mixture
The 1864 mixture consists of carefully selected Virginia tobaccos from the best tobacco fields on three continents. The balanced Virginia tobaccos are blended with fermented Black Cavendish and premium Burley from the USA, Malawi, and Mexico. A seductive flavor is added to ensure a generous and delicate taste - truly a Perfect Mixture from Larsen.
Old Fashioned
Old Fashioned by Larsen is a blend of Virginia and Burley leaf that has been selected from the best tobacco fields in the world. No effort has been spared as one part of the blend has been pressed into cakes and aged, while the other part is finished in different cuts. Finally the different parts are blended and top-flavored by hand.
Signature: Vintage Mixture
Signature Vintage Mixture is a superb Danish mixture, blended to perfection with natural Virginia from the best areas in Malawi and Virginia and ripe Burley from Mexico and Kentucky. To achieve the delicate smoothness Larsen added mellow black Cavendish. The Burley tobaccos have been pressed into cakes and matured, sliced and then rubbed out. The Virginia leaves have been cut in a broad cross cut to please the eye and the palate. This unique blend has been enhanced with a subtle note of natural sweetness yielding a mellow rich smoke.
As stated, it can be hard for me to make a decision based off reviews I read on tobaccoreviews.com, but I'd just enjoy hearing what any of you have to say about these blends. I wish they had a few others that I've seen elsewhere that have caught my eye, but alas, the three above are all they currently have. Your thoughts are much appreciated.
