Could anyone recommend a good briar for around fifty to sixty dollars? Pipes and Cigars has quite a few in this range, but which ones are good? Thanks. :puffy:

Estates are a great way to go, but if you must have a new one, I'd suggest looking at Nording's "Eriksen" line of pipes. They run between $40-65 and are a great value! I have an Eriksen straight bulldog that's an excellent smoker!

I agree with the recommendation to look at some estate pipes. jamesislandpiper is great -- I've not dealt with the others so can't comment on them. The pipes are cleaned and ready to go and a much safer route than ebay if you feel uncertain about buying an estate pipe that you've not had a chance to hold and inspect. There have also been some nice pipes offered in the buy/sell/trade forum.
If you insist on a new pipe, CupOJoes has some (had some, don't know if they still do) Savinelli Florence pipes for $40. I have one of the Florence pipes (from CupOJoes) and it's a nice pipe. I've had it for 3 months: it smoked well right from the start and continues to get better (still breaking this in). The Savinelli naturals (mentioned by nsfisher) would be a good way to go as well.

At that price range, I have to second the Savinelli Florence series. A good friend of mine has a rhodesian from that series and he absolutely loves it. They tend to have a few more fills but for a good starter pipe, you can't beat the quality for the money.
Cupojoes has an "Economy" category under the Savinelli brand. I'd check that out.
