What is bizarre about this pipe is that I saw it in an email blog thing I get from smoking-pipes.
That sly fox Eltang making a heart shape pipe for Valentines day! only a romantic sap would purchase that. I thought.
I later go to the website to look at tobacco. But curiosity got the better of me and I decided to see what that heart shaped pipe was priced at? The pipe was sold already! This was only about an hour space of time from me first seeing the pipe :?
Any time you see a pipe and think, "I like that... but I can't buy it because, on the other hand, I'm afraid it'll remind someone of male anatomy, and they'll laugh," fear not. No pipe you find could do it like this one could:
I actually think that Eltang was very cool looking. The grain was beautiful and I love the stain he uses on most of his pipes. I have always wanted an Eltang Dublin but the price is just too much for one pipe. One of these days I might get lucky on an estate of his. I think his shaping on a Dublin is one of the nicest out there. Very much like a Jess Chonowitsch who I think is the master of that shape.
I would buy that Preben pipe for sure. That pipe is unique , conversation piece. I have three curio cabinets to fill, definitely a shelf or two dedicated to odd pipes .
