I read here that people are smoking walnut flavored tobacco. I'm getting curious to try this, but don't know which blend to try, or that is popular. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

There is a Middleton blend called Walnut but it is not walnut flavored. It is named after one of the oldest streets in Philadelphia.

Ogden makes a Walnut Flake but I don't know if it is available here. McClelland made a #705 Walnut liquer but, again, I don't know if it is available.

I'm interested to hear from others as well. Might be a nice blend for the Fall.

Thanks for clearing things up. I have just read "walnut" so I wasn't sure if this was the flavor of the blend, or just a category of tobacco. It did sound special anyhow :)

Thanks Baskerville. Yes I will most probably include a sample in my next order. This thing seems to be really popular

I keep Walnut on hand all the time. Like it straight up or mixed with OTC burleys especially PA.

Walnut is the source of much scorn over on one of the big pipe forums...they rib everyone who mentions it, but I didn't know that it was an English blend. :?:

Ah Walnut, it has quickly become my favorite OTC. As an English I would say it's of the ultra light variety. The latakia is there, but it also doesn't punch you in the face with its presence. I'm going to have to try ejames' suggestion and mix it with a little PA or CH, but I like it just fine on its own!

Actually Peterson's blend called De Luxe Mixture is a flavouring of vanilla, walnut, and honey. It's a very nutty flavoured blend. One I'll probably mostly smoke in the winter time around Christmas season. The blend just gives me a wintery feeling, like it should be smoked by a warm fire while watching Frosty The Snowman. It's a very smooth smoke that burns well and is very well flavoured, but like I said the nuttiness in it has me wanting to save it up more for winter time smokes. Definitely worth a try if you're into aromatics though. It's a huge delight, just one I'll leave more to winter smokes. In the summer I tend to like the more fruity blends like Luxury Blend, which is orange flavoured, and Connoisseur's Choice, which is a tropical fruit and rum blend.

Altadis USA produces three walnut flavored aromatics:
I dunno who sells the the last two.

PipesAnd Cigars.com sells the McClelland 705 too.
You can always email Craig Tarler and ask for something in the way of a custom blend: craig@cornellanddiehl.com

Ogden's Walnut flake is one of the few baccys that I find no pleasure in smoking but it's really popular here.

Middletons is now in my next order, thanks again for all the info. Walnut aromatics sound interesting
