I really like the painting! Are these both recent acquisitions?

Purchased about 40 yrs. ago. Spent a lot of time in rural antique shops. The painting is unsigned , age estimate 100 yrs from Germany. Currently having large German wall hanging ceramic plate restored picturing a old man in front of stone fireplace with a child lighting very long stem ornate pipe.
