The reason that I am asking is I have the chance at a 1890s pipe. The stem is vulcanite. I have been told that it is the original stem. To my knowledge vulcanite stems were not produced until the early 1900s. Anyone know?

I believe some companies were using Vulcanite stems around 1910ish but I'm no historian. I live for today. And a little bit for tomorrow. Sometimes I think about yesteryear. Either way, I'm glad we live in a time of indoor plumbing.
