Not only do people disagree on identifying pipe shapes but sometimes the manufacturers and/or retailers change the descriptions over time. About ten years ago, I really liked a particular shape of Peterson, so I bought two of them -- a Shannon and a Killarney -- from smokingpipes.com. I'm sure at the time they listed the shape as a brandy B11. Today I happened across this shape again, just to see if it was still available, out of curiosity, not needing another. And lo' and behold, pipesandcigars has it listed as a volcano! But the B11 designation remains the same. Any similar experiences with shape-shifting pipe descriptions/designations?

Smoking Pipes still list B11's as Bent Brandy. FWIW they don't show Volcano as a shape option.

swb118, interesting! Shapes are subjective, up to a point, though I've seen some total misnomers from time to time. These are forgivable since there is some of each in the B11.
