I found this tin at the antique store and noticed it still had some tobacco in it. After opening it up there's still quite a bit left in the tin, but it is overly dry lol. Anyone ever heard of it or know about how old it might be? There's no date markings on it anywhere.

I'm with Jud on this one. Maybe you should rehydrate a small amount and try it. It's most likely a burley blend.

Very cool find. Keep us posted.

Pretty amazed I've found a blend two respectful veterans haven't heard of.
I spotted the W. VA. as well and figured it was made in West Virginia or the company who made it was based there. I have no idea what the T-16 infront of it refers to.
I can't see any markings really to denote a company or date of production or anything. A light internet search has come up with absolutely nothing. I wouldn't even know how old the tin is. From it's condition I'd guess somewhere around 30-50 years old but that's totally a shot in the dark.
I might set some aside and rehydrate it tonight and maybe give a bowl or two a go tomorrow. If I do I'll report back after a couple of bowls.

It makes me wonder, after thinking about it,if it was a local shop blend they had tinned for them. Even then, the fact that there is no more info on the tin is quite unusual.

You're probably right Jud.
It's the best explanation.
It may have been made by Kentucky Club (Wheeling W. Va.) for a local shop?

The only other thing on the tin is a stamp of 291 on the bottom of it. If it is a house blend that was tinned maybe that was the number of the blend before it got named.
I was hoping to have a bowl of it this morning but, it still needs some more time rehydrating.

It finally hydrated enough to have a bowl. I've had two on my own now and it's actually pretty nice.
It loaded up pretty well for having been rehydrated. Also took a charring light and true light well too. It burned nice and evenly and stayed lit pretty well with periodic tamping. The flavor was just that of a nice mild codger Burley. No top dressings or casings to it, just a good Burley leaf. The nicotine level on it is pretty mild which may have something to do with how old the tin is. It's obviously a good quality leaf because it burned down to a nice white ash. Overall it's just a nice light all day type blend.
I took some of it to the last get together with a few other local pipe smokers and they seemed to enjoy it as well.
