You seem to have the edge on Edgeworth of late! First it was a vintage tin of Larus & Brother Edgeworth Extra High Grade Sliced pipe-tobacco; now a one-pound jar of Larus & Brother Edgeworth Ready-Rubbed. I saw the latter on eBay, but did not bid.

Best guess of age for now would be early 50's but will research it and try to be more accurate.

That was my dad's favorite and I remember the glass jar. Honestly, I was not particularly appreciative of the whif.

I can't help but wonder how it was discovered. In someone's estate collection? In grandpas tool shed? I lay awake wondering how many "finds" like this I might have missed over the years as a plumber working for a jobbing shop, in old homes all the time. Of course this was long before I took up the pipe.

Nice grab Banjo. I love the old stuff as you probably know and scooped a 1 pound tin of the OLD Edgeworth Flake a while back. amazing stuff. And at the Chicago show, Lane had the new release of the Edgeworth rubbed in the big tin now called "Lane Limited Ready Rubbed". Exactly the same blend as the previous Edgeworth. They could not use the name Edgeworth because of legal repercussions.

Don't know, quite possible whoever does either did not wish to sell it or wanted too much for it, either way it is a legend for sure.
